Is One Scream listening to what I say?
One Scream is trained to detect panic screams and the word combination “One Scream”. It can't understand other words, the app does not record conversations.
Who can see my location?
No one will ever monitor your location, including us. Your location will be sent to your contacts only when you created an alert.

What is a panic scream?
A panic scream is one of woman’s innate responses to danger. A scream is a universally recognised primal sound that humans make when in distress, to call for help. All panic screams have very similar qualities.
What if my reaction to danger is not screaming?
Many people have never faced a situation where they have had to panic scream. It is an innate response for females in danger to scream for help. If you do not scream, an alert can also be created with the words “One Scream”..
Who can use One Scream?
Anyone who can either scream (we recommend it for girls +14 and women under 60)* or anybody who says the safe word “One Scream”.
We'd love to offer the scream detection to everyone; but young girls, seniors and males sound different when they scream.
Do I need to scream at the app to calibrate it to my scream?
One Scream has been developed to detect common panic screams. Experience has shown that it is difficult for women to fake their scream. Therefore, you do not need to scream at the app to calibrate it.

I am worried my alarm will activate when it shouldn’t!
If the alarm does mistakenly activate, you have 20 seconds to cancel the alarm before your contacts are notified. A push notification and siren will alert you that the alarm has gone off. Please log into your phone and cancel the alarm in the One Scream app.
What should I expect if the alarm is activated?
The phone will vibrate, you will hear a loud siren, and the lights of your phone will flash. You have 20 seconds to go into the app and cancel the alarm before your contacts are notified.
How can I stop the alert if I am not able to cancel within the 20 seconds?
If an alert from an Android phone has been sent to your contacts, it is crucial to stay on the line and confirm your false alarm. All iOS users are asked to immediately inform their helpers about the false alarm.
What is the red/oragne bar on the top of my iPhone screen?
Apple requires the red or orange bar to show when an app is using your microphone while continuously running in the background.
How do I know One Scream is ON?
You will see a red or orange bar at the top of your screen, this bar signifies that One Scream is activated.
In which countries is One Scream available?
Currently One Scream is available in the UK only. We hope to launch in other countries soon!
When should I use One Scream?
We would want you to have One Scream activated in the event of a sudden or unexpected attack. However, it is down to your discretion when you turn on One Scream. There are instances where we recommend you should definitely turn One Scream on, such as when walking home alone late or going for a long run alone.

Do I need a phone plan?
You do not need a monthly phone plan for One Scream to operate. One Scream requires a data connection in order to report your location to your contacts in an emergency, this connection can be provided by a pay as you go plan carrier.
Can I use One Scream on my tablet or computer?
One Scream is only designed for mobile phones.
What happens if I have no signal/connection?
One Scream is working within the phone, if you have no signal the app will detect your scream and activate the siren but will not have a way to communicate to your contacts.
Is One Scream running down my battery?
One Scream operates incredibly efficiently but if it runs in the background all the time, it will have an impact on battery life.
