7 Activities To Keep You Inspired During Lockdown

Lockdown Inspiration Ideas

Feeling very locked down during lockdown?

Looking for a little more inspiration of things to do other than make and nurture a sourdough starter and banana bread?

Here’s a few fun things we’ve spotted, from culture to crafts and beyond.

1. Fleabag, on stage, to rent.

With proceeds going to charitable causes, perfect for a weekend evening’s watching. Why not book in a joint watch sesh with all of your pals (paying for yourselves of course), and stream your reactions on Houseparty?  Stream here or on Amazon Prime.

2. Need some downtime away from screens?

Nothing like a lovely jigsaw. We love this one, from Abrams & Chronicle Books (supporting independent bookshops, who will also be more likely to operate safe distancing of their staff), and also features a wonderful design with a fab message.

3. Run out of bread?

Can’t be faffed with the long process? Check out this no-knead focaccia recipe. Delish.

4. Need a little boost?

Hypnotherapy app Clementine has been built just for women, and focusses on specific needs, to help you build confidence, get better sleep, and achieve a better balance.

5. Want to pretend like you’re on holiday?

Follow photographer Lucy Laucht on Instagram - her beautiful shots on film hark back to archive footage of holidays gone by, and also transport us for a second. Even if you can only capture a little bit of sun from your bedroom window.

6. Need a project to keep your hands out of the cookie jar (figurative and our case, literal)?

We love this kit from Sculpd - make your own pottery with air dry clay, no need for a kiln, so why not upgrade a plant pot, or make yourself a new jewellery dish? They also recommend creating a ‘Clay Party’ perhaps with housemates (each kit contains two pouches of clay) or with a friend over video chat if you both agree to buy one.

7. Craving a little bit of art & culture?

The Tate are offering up new videos each week, doing a deep dive into their current exhibitions and focussing on particular artists. So great to see a national institution taking their offering online, check out their YouTube channel.
